Courage and Bravery of the Holy Prophet
Huzuraba delivered today’s Friday Sermon on the courage and bravery
of the Holy Prophet
. Citing verse 40 of Surah
Al Ahzab (33:40) Huzuraba explained that the valour of Allah’s prophets
is further enhanced by their complete trust in Him and the courage demonstrated
by the Holy Prophet
when taking the Divine
message to people was matchless.
His intrinsic valour was unique even before he received his first revelation when he would go to Cave Hira and spend several nights in the bleak spot all by himself, engaged in worship of One God.
Huzuraba related incidents from the 13 hazardous years after his prophethood
that the Holy Prophet
spent in Mecca facing
the cruelty and nastiness of the pagans illustrating his extraordinary courage
in the face of severe threat and menace. Huzuraba also recounted the monumental
peril of the episode of migration to Medina and the way in which the Holy
Prophet
dealt with it exhibiting supreme
courage and trust in Allah.
The peaceable nature of the Holy Prophet
did not seek conflict, however, it was not acceptable to his inherent courage
to show cowardice once confronted with the enemy. Huzuraba related incidents
of exceptional bravery of the Holy Prophet
from the battles he had had to fight with the enemy, explaining how, in the
thick of the battle, he would act like a shield for his Companions as he
fought and tackled the enemy fearlessly.
The Holy Prophet
was ever concerned for
the safety and security of his people and would carry out reconnaissance
upon waking up at night all by himself, he would do this especially at hazardous
times, when there was a threat from the enemy.
