Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, arrived at the Bait-ur-Rahman Mosque in Maryland at 9pm on 20 June 2012. Upon arrival, His Holiness was greeted by 2,000 Ahmadi Muslims who had gathered at the national headquarters of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in USA.
The Ahmadi Muslims in attendance were all overcome with emotion as they saw His Holiness who is currently on his second tour of the United States since being elected as Khalifa in 2003. After arriving, His Holiness led the assembled Ahmadi Muslims in the Maghreb and Isha prayers.
Earlier in the day, His Holiness departed from Columbus, Ohio and proceeded directly to Pittsburgh where he prayed at the graves of a number of Ahmadi Muslims buried at the local cemetery, including at the grave of Mirza Munawar Ahmad, an Ahmadi Missionary, posted to the city in the 1940’s.
At 2pm, His Holiness arrived at the Nur Mosque in Pittsburgh, where dozens of Ahmadis had gathered to greet the Khalifa. Thereafter His Holiness met with the local Ahmadis, many of whom were Afro-American. In turn the Ahmadis took the opportunity to seek the prayers and counsel of His Holiness.
The local President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Pittsburgh, Omar Shaheed said:
“I am absolutely certain that the visit of the Khalifa will have a truly profound impact on the Ahmadi Muslims in our Jamaat. It will lead to an everlasting change.”
His Holiness departed from the Mosque at 5.15pm and proceeded directly to Bait-ur-Rahman Mosque.
