Al Khabir - The All-Aware

Summary of Friday Sermon Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V(aba)

Huzoor(aba) continued with the series of Friday Sermons on the Divine attribute of Al Khabir (The All-Aware). He recited verse 89 of Surah Al Naml (27:89) and elucidated the matter citing Hazrat Musleh Maud’s (may Allah be pleased with him) commentary which explains that therein the mountains denote big powers of the world and the manner in which their conceit will be smashed, not by any human planning but with Divine design. This revolution can come about only if the Muslim world reforms itself otherwise God does not will to replace one unjust system with another.

Huzoor(aba) added that as the followers of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) it is incumbent upon us to bring about a radical change in our lives in order to discharge of our responsibility of safeguarding the world of Islam, we have no worldly power but we shall employ the power of prayer to achieve our aims.

Huzoor(aba) gave further Quranic references expounding the Divine attribute of Al Khabir. These were: (31:17), (34:2). Huzoor(aba) cited the Quranic verses that foretell prominent world events in great detail. In Surah Bani Israel verse 105 (17:105) the coming together of the Jews for a second time is predicted with clarity. Huzoor(aba) gave a potted history of the making of the state of Israel and said that now the situation is such that this assemblage of Jews has caused turmoil for the entire Muslim. In Surah Al Kahf (Ch. 18) verse 48 (18:48) the reference and inference is to big world powers and ordinary people and the discord that is so evident in this day and age. Commenting on the current global turbulent state of affairs Huzoor(aba) said indeed new blocs are being created and may we remain in Allah’s protection from all that’s evil. Verse 31 of Surah Al Anbiya (21:31) speaks of the ‘Big Bang’ phenomenon with absolute clarity. Illustrating verses 2 – 4 of Surah Al Takwir (81:2-4) Huzoor(aba) explained that this indicates the current times when the light of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) is prevented from reaching mankind, as is the light of the Companions made indistinct and huge fleets sail the seas and giant planes fly the skies. Expounding verses 5 – 9 of Surah Al Buruj (85:5-9) Huzoor(aba) said the connotation of these verses is applicable to the relentless persecution of the Ahmadi Community in Pakistan. Commenting on the dire situation Huzoor(aba) said that the condition is such that one can only invoke Allah’s help. (Huzoor(aba) quoted the last three references from the pronouncements of Khalifatul Masih IV rahma'ullah).

Illustrating the Divine endowment on the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) to foresee times to come, Huzoor(aba) drew a parallel to the present day and the description of a few ahadith about the state of affairs the Muslim world would be embroiled in. These mention Islam rendered to be around just in name and the corrupt clergy to be the one instigating duplicity, Muslims to conduct themselves as the Jews and Christians of pre-Islamic days had done and for them to be divided in 73 sects and for the 73rd group to be granted salvation.

Huzoor(aba) also narrated a few prophecies of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) that have been fulfilled in a most glorious manner and conveyed his admonition to the world to acknowledge the Divine truth to achieve salvation.
