Acting upon the conditions of bai'at Huzur(aba) delivered today's Friday Sermon further elucidating the phrase 'pledging obedience in everything good' as stated in the 10th and last condition of Bai'at of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace).
Huzur(aba) recited verse 13 of Surah Al Mumtahanah (60:13) and explained that the verse speaks of coming into the bai'at of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) and says: "nor disobey thee in what is right". Huzur(aba) said the verse thus, seemingly raises the question, would a prophet of God enjoin anything other than what would be inherently right? Huzur(aba) said contrary to this, therein is the glad tiding that by coming into the bai'at of one commissioned by God one comes into the security of only ever having to obey good commandments.
Huzur(aba) said that a Khalifa carries on the mission of prophets of God and promulgates their directives. In this age, in accordance with the prophecy of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) expounded the teachings of Islam and thus the Ahmadiyya Community was formed where judicious decisions and judgments are made in line with the Shariah. However, if a Khalifa does make an error of judgement, Allah the Exalted makes such arrangements that its bad consequences do not come to pass. Huzur(aba) said a Khalifa can make trivial mistakes in his personal life, however as far as the management of the Community is concerned, in the terminology of mystics (Sufis) Allah the Exalted grants protection to His prophets Ismat e kubra i.e greater protection, whereas He grants Ismat e sughra i.e lesser protection to the Khalifa in that He does not let them make any decisions that are detrimental to the Community and to the development of the Divine mission.
Citing verse 54 of Surah Al Nur (24:54) Huzur(aba) said the message therein is to 'hear and to obey' and to shun any needless rhetoric.
Next Huzur(aba) presented some inspirational examples of people who experienced great spiritual transformation after pledging allegiance to the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace). Among them Huzur(aba) related the instance of the resolute faith in the Unity of God of the mother of Ch. Zafrulla Khan Sahib in face of gruelling tragedy. Huzur(aba) also gave some personal insight into the positive transformation that acceptance of Islam brought to the pagan people of Ghana and how they overcame giving in to negative passion.
As regards the condition of the bai'at about being regular in establishing the five daily prayers Huzur(aba) related some narratives of the companions of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) who would go to extraordinary lengths to ensure the establishment of the five daily prayers.
Huzur(aba) said he would continue to present further depictions of the positive and spiritual effect of paying heed to the conditions of the bai'at in that the next generation and the new converts are informed and that they also may bring about righteous changes in themselves.
