Glorious implementations of the conditions of Baiat

Summary of Friday Sermon Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V(aba)

In his Friday Sermon today Huzoor(aba) continued the theme of inspiring examples of those who demonstrated immense sacrifices in honouring the conditions of bai'at as set by the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace).

Commenting on the overwhelming zeal of the Ahmadiyya Community in the field of social welfare Huzoor(aba) said that this was indeed in adherence to the ninth bai'at condition which the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) had stipulated in line with the Islamic teaching of demonstrating kindness and compassion to creation in order to attain the love of Allah. Huzoor(aba) said Ahmadis are always in the forefront of emergency aid in support of victims of natural disasters globally. He also related the extensive social work done by the Community in Africa during the '70's, especially by our doctors and teachers, who at the behest of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih III (rahma'ullah) forfeited all worldly comforts and served humanity in Africa under dire conditions. Huzoor(aba) urged the doctors of the Community to once again come forward and devote some time and serve humanity in lesser-advantaged countries of the world.

Huzoor(aba) related some exemplary incidents of service to mankind by the elders of the Community, of how they undertook outstanding care of orphans, widows and the needy. Huzoor(aba) mentioned the selfless service rendered by the Community to desperate Muslims fleeing India during the 1947 partition of the Indian sub-continent. Fulfilling the pledge of obedience to the Promised Messiah for the sake of Allah as made in the bai'at, Huzoor(aba) related several traditions of the Companions of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace). Among these the model of Hazrat Maulwi Nur u din (may Allah be pleased with him) is most prominent and unique about whom the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) himself wrote that the magnitude of his devotion, sincerity and financial sacrifices was such that it made him yearn to be able to be of similar service. Huzoor(aba) mentioned many others whose love and devotion to the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) was exemplary. Among those whose extraordinary financial and devotional services Huzoor(aba) mentioned were Mian Abdullah Sanuri, Mirza Azam Baig, Maulwi Nehmat Ullah, and Dr. Syed Adul Sattar (may Allah be pleased with them all).

Huzoor(aba) said there were many who had served the Community keeping a low profile and are therefore not known. He urged the families of such elders to come forward with information for the Community and also that they should enlighten their own children about the sacrifices of their forefathers.

Huzoor(aba) said that these glowing examples of the past are being continually repeated in the Community in the present, he said to ever be mindful of the saying of the

Promised Messiah (on whom be peace):

'The earth can do you no harm if you have a strong connection with the heavens.'

Reading excerpts from some acknowledgments made by people outside of the Community regarding the spiritual dynamism of the Community Huzoor(aba) concluded on the prayer that may each one of us fulfil the pledges of the bai'at deeming them as obligatory and may we be the inheritors of Allah's pleasure.
