Huzuraba cited verse 16 of Surah Bani Israel (17:16) and carrying on the theme from last week gave a discourse on the Divine Signs of the advent of the Promised Messiahas.

Huzuraba said the so-called religious scholars have been embroiled in one excuse after another to postpone and delay the advent of the Messiah, and now opine that the advent of the Messiah will be a sign of the imminence of the Day of Judgment whereas in their view life’s journey has only just begun. Some Arab scholars have accepted that Jesusas has indeed passed away and the hadith relating a ‘second coming’ is wrong and that they are sufficed to revive faith. All this has been accompanied with a profusion of false edicts against us based on utter fabrications; to which we simply respond in the words of the Promised Messiahas: ‘God’s curse be on those who lie and the transgressors’ and leave the matter with God.

However, in light of the compassion we feel for ordinary Muslims and the message we are assigned to take to them Huzuraba further elucidated the Divine signs of the advent of the Messiah.

Huzuraba said there was a time when all religious scholars agreed that the Messiah would come in 14th century Hijri. Indeed people of that age, having seen the desperate condition of the Muslim world were sure of his advent and prayed for it.

Huzuraba presented some extracts from the writings of saints of those times that the Promised Messiahas had also presented, stressing that this message needs to be repeated.

Naimat Ullah Wali, a holy person of the 6th century Hijri had said that after 1200 years elapsing wondrous signs will appear, indicating the advent of the Messiah. Shah Wali Ullah Muhaddith Dehlvi (12th century Hijri) said that he was told by God that the Day of Judgment was nigh and the advent of the Messiah was near. Nawab Nur ul Hassan quoted Imam Jaffer (1st century Hijri) that Imam Mahdi shall rise in the 12th century Hijri.

Maulana Syed Abul Hassan, although not from among those who believed in the Promised Messiahas wrote that Muslims of the age were in a despondent state and after the historic misfortune of 1857 India, people had despaired of ordinary, mundane revolutions and some were opining that the advent of Messiah was critical at the end of the century. He wrote that the state of affairs of the time was so bleak for Islam that it demanded a reformer to come and dispel it all.

Huzuraba said that could it be that the religion that God had sent as the ultimate and complete faith would be in such a terrible state and God would not send the Messiah?

All the scholars seem to signal the advent of the Messiah to be after 12th century Hijri. These were not just co-incidents and there are Quranic verses to substantiate this and of course Ahadith. Huzuraba said we should take this message to the Muslim world and ask them to reflect on the current times and age and find out if this is the age of the advent of the Messiah.

Next Huzuraba quoted extensively from Surah Al Takwir (Chapter 81) citing verses 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 11. Huzuraba expounded these verses and said they all indicated towards the latter-days and are associated with the time of dajjal and the Messiah’s advent is linked with these times.

Huzuraba said we have the hadith about the lunar and solar eclipse as the definitive proof of the truth of the Promised Messiahas. He said the Holy Prophetsaw had given this particular sign of the advent of the Messiah as a challenge in that it has never taken place before.

Reading from the writings of the Promised Messiahas Huzuraba said it was imperative that the Messiah appeared in the time of Gog and Magog – these are the people who would utilise fire (energy) the most and would progress greatly because of making use of fire.

Huzuraba said with all the clear and obvious signs if people still did not believe that the time for the advent of the Messiah was here then that is akin to calling on the wrath of God. Huzuraba prayed that may Allah give the Muslims sense and sagacity to recognize the warnings.

It is this pathetic state of the Muslim world that gives the others chances like the current furore over the publication of some cartoons. Huzuraba explained that the fact that there has been an explanation from Denmark, the country where this originated, is because our delegation went to see them and convinced them of their reasoning. Huzuraba said Jama’ats in other countries where these have been published should also organise to meet up and put our point of view across.

Huzuraba said in Surah Al Takwir, along with all the prophecies, progress and advancement is also foretold and the [Muslim] world should not delude itself that they shall regain their lost power without accepting the Messiah. May Allah open up their hearts, our task is to pray for them and to show them the way, which we should carry on doing, may Allah enable us to do so.
