In today’s Friday Sermon citing verse 32 of Surah Al Imran (3:32) Huzur gave a discourse on the Divine expression of love for the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) by way of the phenomenal acceptance his prayers received.

Explaining, Huzur remarked how great must be the love of God that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) had that it is through his status that we are also the recipient of Divine nearness. Prayers and supplications aside, even the ordinary matters of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) gained acceptance by Allah. His enemy appreciated this status but perceived the power and acceptance of his prayers in their own slanted way.

Huzur illustrated the subject further by reading extracts from the writings of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) and said that there were innumerable incidents in the life of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) regarding this and only a few glimpses could be presented at a time.

Huzur cited the incident when, in light of his disobedience and rejection by the Quraish, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah on him) prayed that Allah helped him against these disbelievers for seven years the way Allah had helped Hadhrat Yusuf for seven years and a desperate famine followed. Out of his inherent compassion for humanity, when he was asked to pray for the calamity to pass, indeed he did so, although he made it known at the time that he knew these people would return to their rebellious ways.

Huzur said that it is the way of Allah that He causes certain situations to strengthen the faith of true believers and to proclaim the truthfulness of His Prophets. Therefore, Huzur said we should always pray when going through these trials.

Huzur related a few incidents from the blessed life of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) to elucidate the exceptional acceptance his prayers received.

On a separate note Huzur added that he had asked for prayers for his trip to USA last Friday. There had been many letters and faxes in response to this with people recounting their [related] dreams and their concerns and the overall advice was not to go ahead with the trip. Huzur therefore decided not to proceed. He said may Allah make it happen at another time.

Huzur also mentioned that a deluge of congratulatory letters regarding the Jalsa Salana is received from Pakistan and said that although efforts are being made to respond to them it will not be possible to reply to every single letter. Huzur counselled to carry on praying to Allah that may we continue to be the recipient of His support and help and may He keep us all in His refuge and protection.
