  • Today’s Friday sermon was delivered by Khalifatul Masih V (may Allah be his Helper) from Baitul Futuh mosque, London. After Tashahhud and Surah Fatihah Huzoor (May Allah be his Helper) saidthat we all know that salat or prayers have been made mandatory by Allah in the Holy Quran and by the Holy Prophet ( peace be upon him). The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said that not saying salat takes one closer to disbelief and is tantamount to shirk. Similarly, The Prophet ( peace be upon him) said that the first matter to be questioned on the day of Judgment will be Salat.
  • The Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) said to advise children to offer Salat when they are seven years old and make them regular by the age of ten. Parents should remember that their children will be badly affected if the parents themselves aren’t regular in their salat.
  • In this age, the Promised Messiah (peace be on him)) has given us the true understanding of prayers and salat. If we show weakness in this regard, how can we claim that we are the true followers. We can only be true Ahmadis when we start to acquire a spiritual pleasure in our salat
  • The Promised Messiah (peace be on him) says in this regard that an alcoholic continues to drink and does not stop until he has become fully intoxicated. A wise believer can take heed from this. You should adopt regularity in your prayers and salat and continue to offer them with full attention until you achieve that spiritual high. If you persist in this
  • way with your full attention and efforts, Allah will grant you this reward of prayers and salat.
  • With regards to the importance of congregational salat the Promised Messiah (peace be on him) states that Allah has placed more reward in prayers done in congregation. Prayers and salat in congregation are a source of unity among believers and also strengthen those who are weak in faith. This is so because believers have the ability to be affected by the righteousness and piety of fellow believers during prayers and salat in congregation.
  • Huzoor (may Allah be his Helper)) advised Ahmadis worldwide, in particular the Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya of Pakistan, that prayers and salat is essential for our success.
  • Those who have migrated out of Pakistan should be especially regular in prayers and salat to be thankful to Allah for his blessings. Allah has never said that accepting the Promised Messiah (peace be on him) is enough for you –even if you do not fulfil my rights, you will continue to receive success from me. If we think along these lines, it is as if we want to test God.
  • Nizam-e-Jama’at should continuously remind Jama’at members about prayers and salat in addition to other necessary reminders like financial
  • sacrifices. If people become regular in prayers and salat, all other departments will become active on their own especially the department of
  • finance.
  • In today’s conditions where world war seems imminent, many people ask what will happen and what should they do?
  • The Promised Messiah (peace be on him) has said you should love your
  • God and the best way of doing so is through prayers and salat.
  • After migrating to Western countries, some Ahmadis forget God like the locals here or they think that even if we offer salat two or three times a day, we are still better. We should remember that our success lies in acting upon the complete teachings of Islam and this is the way to stay away from evils of this society as well.
  • Huzoor (may Allah be his Helper) also presented various other quotations of the Promised Messiah (peace be on him) regarding the reality of prayer and its benefits.
  • May Allah enable us to safeguard our salat, may we never show slackness, and may He grant us the true spiritual pleasure of prayers and salat
About Friday Sermon

The Jumu'ah (Friday) prayer is one form of congregational worship in Islam. It takes place every Friday. Regular attendance at the Jumu'ah prayer is enjoined on the believer. According to a Saying of Muhammadsa this congregational prayer is twenty-five times more blessed than worship performed alone. (Bukhari)
