Raziq & Razzaq

Summary of Friday Sermon Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad(rh)

Continuing with the subject of the Divine attribute of Al-Razzaq, Hazoor elucidated the theme, as always presenting it in light of the Holy Quran, ahadith and the writings of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace).

Hazoor explained that the Quran and ahadith state in unison that when a disbeliever does a good deed he/she is rewarded in this world, whereas for a believer, in addition to the reward in this world, all the good deeds are amassed for the Hereafter and that the best provision is that which is dispensed with prudence and one who is compliant in times of hardship finds the ultimate prosperity and that one should not habitually implore others but if something is given to one without having to ask then that is a provision from God and should be accepted. Further expounding the Word of the Quran and the sayings of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) Hazoor exhorted that if one comes across another who has physical and financial advantage, one should be mindful of those in lesser fortunate situations in order to steer clear of ingratitude, adding Hazoor said late mornings deprive one of provision, he said at the hour when he goes for his early morning walks there are already people out at work, like the refuse collectors, without whose work our surroundings could get appalling. Hazoor said we should reflect on these arrangements that are in place to make our life so easy and comfortable.

Reading from the extracts of the Promised Messiah's (on whom be peace) writings Hazoor said if one puts one's trust in Allah in the manner that is due then Allah will surely provide for one just as He does with the birds, who leave their nests on an empty stomach and return fully satisfied. With reference to the notion that one cannot get by in this world without the practice of usury he said that one who avoids all evil with the fear of Allah and in order to please Allah is the definitive righteous person and Allah the Exalted frees him from everything. Hazoor said people do not draw help from these Divine promises.

Next Hazoor recounted a few incidences from the life of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) whereby he was provided provision in the most extraordinary of situations, with prior revelations and in stunning accordance of the need.

Hazoor concluded with prayers that may Allah the Exalted provide accordingly for all the Ahmadis beyond their expectations and that may Allah remove the poverty of Ahmadi and non-Ahmadis disadvantaged people and that may the Jama'at implement Jehad against global poverty.
