Al-Nur - The Light

Summary of Friday Sermon Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad(rh)

In further illustration of the subject of Al-Nur (The Light) today Hazoor delivered the Friday Sermon based on verse (42:53) of Surah Shura, which declares the singularly illuminating quality of the Holy Quran.

Hazoor recounted that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) enjoined that when one is troubled one should pray to Allah the Exalted being mindful of His All-encompassing attributes that one is aware of and even those attributes that Allah the Exalted has not revealed to creation and seek that the Holy Quran is made the nur or light of one’s heart. Allah then changes such a person’s despondency into cheerfulness.

With reference to the writings of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) on the subject Hazoor said that the Holy Quran is supremely luminous and carries all the goodness within. It’s a source of beneficence that emanates a delicious surging ocean full of elixir. He said that the Holy Quran is a lustrous manifestation of spiritual excellence from Allah the Exalted and a nur of eloquence and articulacy.

Hazoor concluded on reading out translations of the Promised Messiah’s (on whom be peace) Persian poetry glorifying the Holy Quran.
