Blessings of Jalsa Salana

Summary of Friday Sermon Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V(aba)

Huzoor(aba) delivered today's Friday Sermon at Islamabad Tilford at the commencement of the 37th UK Jalsa Salana. Huzoor(aba) prayed that the Jalsa is in keeping with the tradition established by the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) 112 years ago. Reading from the writings of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) Huzoor(aba) said that the arrangements of this Jalsa were not like those of a funfair rather its coming to pass is dependent on the soundness of intention and the quality of fruition. After taking a pledge of allegiance (bai'at) if one is careless about coming in for a mulaqat (interview/audience) then that bai'at would be devoid of blessing and would have been a mere ritual. For a whole range of varied reasons all individuals do not come for mulaqat, therefore it is expedient and prudent to set aside three days each year when all the sincere people can gather merely for the sake of Allah to listen to spiritually inspiring words and to participate in dua (prayer). Huzoor(aba) said it was therefore incumbent on all those who could afford to come, to participate in this Jalsa and for those whose finances were restricted, to save over a period of time for this. He said the its objective would not be fulfilled unless people continually and tirelessly came to the Jalsa and that it was a wicked assumption that by coming one would be in any way or form a burden. Huzoor(aba) said it was immense grace of Allah that the dear Community of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) travelled most fervently to wherever the Khalifa resided. However there are millions more who despite their wish cannot make it and that it was the grace of Allah that through the efforts of the expeditious Khalifatul Masih IV (rahma'ullah) we have been given the blessing of MTA through which one and all can participate in the Jalsa. Huzoor(aba) said besides invigorating spirituality the Jalsa also draws attention towards moral training i.e. to establish mutual love and brotherhood and as the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) taught us one's faith cannot be adequate unless one considers one's brother's needs on the same or enhanced level as one's own needs and that one is not a true believer unless one's heart is gentle and one responds to something bad with good and that to suppress one's anger was supreme gallantry. Next Huzoor(aba) read out several revelations of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) that he received during the year 1903. Majority of these revelations give glad-tidings of great triumph despite the scheming of the opponents. Then Huzoor(aba) read out an excerpt from the Promised Messiah's (on whom be peace) writings that is as follows:

"O all people! Take note that this is the prophecy of the One Who has created the heavens and the earth. He will expand this Community of His in all the lands and shall grant them predominance over everyone through argument and reasoning. Those days shall come; rather they are close by when there will be only one faith in the world that is regarded with deference. God shall bless this mission in a most supreme and extraordinary way and everyone who is bothered to eradicate it will be disgraced and this predominance will be for all time until the Day of Judgment will come to pass. Bear in mind that no one will descend from the heavens. All our opponents who are alive now will all meet their death and then their remaining children will also meet their death and then their next generation will meet its death and even they will not witness son of Mary descend from the heavens. It is then that God will agitate their hearts in that the era of the dominance of the Cross would have also passed and the world would have adopted another tendency, yet Jesus son of Mary would have still not descended from the heavens. It is then that the scholars will be disenchanted with this creed and before the completion of three hundred years from today those who await Jesus, be it Muslims or be it Christians will be extremely embittered and losing all hope will abandon this creed and there will be only one faith in the world and only one leader. I have come to sow a seed, thus the seedling has been sowed through my hand. It shall now grow and blossom and there is no one who can stop it."

Huzoor(aba) said we have repeatedly witnessed the revelations of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) being fulfilled and this has always bolstered our faith and this shall carry on happening in the future for it has been Divinely promised and no worldly power can defer it, however there is one condition that we need to abide by and that is to completely turn to Allah and to observe taqwa (righteousness) in everything we do. Huzoor(aba) concluded on prayers that may everyone gain abundantly from the spiritual inspiration of the Jalsa.
