Preamble

Unfortunately, the Muslims have brought ill fate upon themselves by their own hands by closing the doors of understanding, pondering and “ijtehad” (scholastic and intellectual effort to form independent judgment). They still hold fast to centuries old outdated commentaries and interpretations of the holy Quran and prefer to understand Quran through them instead of consulting the original source, i.e., Quran itself.

A large number of conflicting rather contradictory views and interpretations of Islam by the Muslim scholars has confused the common man and they have lost the reliability of the sources of Islam. Now they do not dare to involve in religious discussions or deep understanding and study of Islam. The religion of Muslim masses has been reduced to mere rituals. There are many who do not believe in the traditions of the holy Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him and his progeny) as the authentic source of Islam. As far as the holy Quran is concerned, it has been reduced to a ritualistic recitation and for listening pleasure only. The Muslims recite it every day without any effort to understand it and make it a guide for their individual, family, social, economical and political lives. The only surviving element of their relationship to the holy Quran is its traditional honor and respect in their hearts.

On the basis of this nominal and reduced honor and respect of the holy Quran in the hearts of the Muslims, I have endeavored to present before them the key of that great door which leads to the ultimate success of this world and hereafter.

This key, lying hidden in the divine Book without which we cannot take a single step towards success and salvation, is the recognition of the prophet-hood of the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon him), accepting him as the true Imam Mahdi and helping him in his divine cause. Our success has been linked to the recognition and obedience of this Imam of our time. By entering in this strong fort we can not only secure and save ourselves from the beasts but also can attack and eliminate them.

I emphatically submit that my effort is only to point towards that door through which one can enter in that divine system and community called Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam founded by Allah The Almighty Himself.

I am a humble student of the holy Quran and being inspired by the teachings of the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon him) and the continuous guidance of the “Khulafa” (Supreme heads of the Ahmadiyya community) which has enabled me to have strong faith in Islam and Ahmadiyyat, the divine movement carrying the message of Islam all over the world.

I would also like to categorically declare that the knowledge of Quran is bottomless and no person, whatsoever, can claim to encompass the complete knowledge contained in it. If my humble and modest effort can at best be described as a minutest reflection of the Quranic knowledge, I’ll consider it my highest reward, success and basis of my salvation.

I do not even claim for myself the credit of this minutest reflection of the knowledge of the holy Quran but ascribe it to the blessed Messianic spirit of the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon him) and after him his great companions and successors, who breathed in us the divine breath causing us to fly like birds.

I am grateful to my respected elders and scholars in Jamaat, especially Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman sahib, a great inspiration for me, Syed Muhammad Ahmad Shah sahib and Dr. Ijaz Qamar sahib who reviewed my thesis, encouraged me and prayed for me. May Allah bless all of them.

I pray that may Allah accept my humble effort, bless it and make it useful and beneficial for all the Muslims and forgive my sins. Amen
