Do you pray only with a congregation or can you pray alone?

Muslims are required to offer the five daily Islamic prayers (salat). The Holy Prophet(sa) advised his followers that offering the required prayers at their proper times is especially pleasing to Allah. Prayers can be offered alone, with family members, or with a congregation. Prayers should be offered in any clean and suitable area in which worship can be observed without significant distraction.
