“Inform people of the teachings of Islam with courage”– Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad

On 19 February 2022, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph), His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad held a virtual online meeting with members of Nasirat-ul-Ahmadiyya aged between 10 and 12 from Germany.

His Holiness presided the meeting from MTA Studios in Islamabad, Tilford, whilst the Nasirat gathered at the Baitus Sabuh Mosque in Frankfurt.

Following a formal session starting with recitation of the Holy Quran, members of Nasirat-ul-Ahmadiyya had the opportunity to ask His Holiness a series of questions regarding their faith and contemporary issues.

One of the attendees mentioned to His Holiness that some of her school friends do not believe her when she says she wears the headscarf of her own free will.

In response, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“If you seem happy wearing it, they will eventually realise that you are not being forced. However, if you look sad, they will say you are lying… [You can say,] ‘I consider it to be a good thing and so I do it.’ Anyway, if you say you like a certain food and your friend says that you are lying, then will you stop eating that food? So, a person does what they like and if what they are doing is for the sake of Allah’s pleasure then they should be even more firm upon it. You should let her know that you are wearing the scarf in line with your religious beliefs and that you are doing so of your own free will.”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad further stated:

“What is the need for getting into an argument over this? You cannot fight those who doubt your motives. Our job is not to fight people. If you have told them, then it does not matter if they believe you or not. You should not harbour any inferiority complex over the fact that other girls may tease you. They can tease you if they want to. If we are to follow the teachings of our religion for the sake of pleasing our Lord, then we should not care about what others think.”

Another girl asked His Holiness how she can attain the love of Allah the Almighty and the Khalifa of the time.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“To attain the love of Allah the Almighty, He says that we should worship Him and come nearer to Him. He tells us to observe the daily prayers and to weep fervently during the prayers. Then does Allah the Almighty grant His nearness. Allah the Almighty will then accept your prayers and when your heart feels content when you pray, you will know that you have attained the nearness of Allah.”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad further stated:

“When you attain the nearness of Allah the Almighty, then He Himself will put it in your heart that you should also gain the nearness of the one to whom you have pledged your allegiance and that you must listen to him and act upon what he says. The Khalifa of the time only tells you to do good things and when you do so, you will attain the nearness. The same good deeds will lead you to attaining the pleasure of Allah too. When you do good deeds and also pray to Allah the Almighty that He may enable you to do good and grant you His nearness, then Allah the Almighty will grant you the comfort of your heart as well.”

One of the questioners asked His Holiness about what she should do if in her school, Islam’s teachings are distorted or falsely represented by her teachers.

His Holiness said that she should speak to her teacher and request her to be given a chance to present the true teachings of Islam and that she should then explain how Islam looks after the rights of all people within society.

Explaining further, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“You should ask your teachers to give you an opportunity to explain the true teaching of Islam in school and the discussion should not be one-sided against Islam. You should ask for the opportunity to explain your perspective. Children should have the courage to speak to their teachers to be given the opportunity to speak about Islam… Inform people of the teachings of Islam with courage. When an allegation is made against Islam, a believer should stand up and tell them that you will explain the true face of Islam and that you should be given an opportunity to present your perspective.”

His Holiness said that when false perspectives are given about Islam in schools, Ahmadi Muslim children should raise their voice and create awareness and that way there will be a positive change in the way the school teaches about Islam.
