The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat is pleased to announce that on 18 March 2012, its world leader, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad laid the Foundation Stone for the first Ahmadiyya Muslim Mosque in Walsall, which will be called Baitul Muqeet.
The event began with a short welcome by Mr Rafiq Hayat, the President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in the UK, who explained that the Mosque project had been somewhat delayed due to opposition from certain non-Ahmadi Muslims, who had tried to pressure the local Council into rejecting the Ahmadiyya Community’s application for planning permission. However these efforts were ultimately unsuccessful and planning permission was granted.

Thereafter, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad briefly addressed the audience and thanked Allah for granting the community another opportunity to build a Mosque in the UK and prayed that construction was completed as soon as possible.
At 11.30am, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad laid the Foundation Stone for the Walsall Mosque which has been named as ‘Baitul Muqeet’. The respected wife of His Holiness, Hazrat Amtul Sabooh Begum also laid a brick and thereafter a number of Central, National and Local Ahmadi Muslim officials also laid bricks.
The event was concluded with a silent prayer led by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad.
