اَوۡ یُزَوِّجُہُمۡ ذُکۡرَانًا وَّ اِنَاثًا ۚ وَ یَجۡعَلُ مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ عَقِیۡمًا ؕ اِنَّہٗ عَلِیۡمٌ قَدِیۡرٌ ﴿۵۱﴾
أَوۡ يُزَوِّجُهُمۡ ذُكۡرَانٗا وَإِنَٰثٗاۖ وَيَجۡعَلُ مَن يَشَآءُ عَقِيمًاۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٞ قَدِيرٞ
2664. In this and the preceding verse the disbelievers have been warned that God has decreed that whereas the followers of Islam will increase and multiply, they will decrease and become barren—their children joining the fold of Islam. (close)

وَ مَا کَانَ لِبَشَرٍ اَنۡ یُّکَلِّمَہُ اللّٰہُ اِلَّا وَحۡیًا اَوۡ مِنۡ وَّرَآیِٔ حِجَابٍ اَوۡ یُرۡسِلَ رَسُوۡلًا فَیُوۡحِیَ بِاِذۡنِہٖ مَا یَشَآءُ ؕ اِنَّہٗ عَلِیٌّ حَکِیۡمٌ ﴿۵۲﴾
۞وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُكَلِّمَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا وَحۡيًا أَوۡ مِن وَرَآيِٕ حِجَابٍ أَوۡ يُرۡسِلَ رَسُولٗا فَيُوحِيَ بِإِذۡنِهِۦ مَا يَشَآءُۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٞ

(b) He makes them see a vision which may or may not be interpretable, or, sometimes makes them hear words in a state of wakefulness, when they are not seeing the person speaking to them. This is the significance of the words, 'from behind the veil.' (c) God sends down a messenger—an angel who delivers the Divine Message. (close)
3637. Important Words:
وحیاً (revelation) is infinitive noun from وحی (waha). They say وحی او أوحی الی فلان i.e. He pointed to him; sent to him a messenger; he talked to him secretly, intending to keep the talk secret from others. أوحی العمل means, he did the thing quickly (Aqrab). See also 5:112.

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ رُوحٗا مِّنۡ أَمۡرِنَاۚ مَا كُنتَ تَدۡرِي مَا ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ وَلَا ٱلۡإِيمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِن جَعَلۡنَٰهُ نُورٗا نَّهۡدِي بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَاۚ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهۡدِيٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
2666. The Qur’an has been called here Ruh, (breath of life, Lane), because through it a morally and spiritually dead people received a new life. (close)
2667. Islam is the Life and the Light and the Way that leads to God and to the realization by man of the great and sublime object of his creation. (close)
3638. Important Words:
روحاً (Word) means, soul or spirit; breath of life; Divine revelation or inspiration; the Quran; angel; mercy of God; Word of God. See also 4:172 and 16:3.
The Quran has been called here روح because through it a morally and spiritually dead people received a new life. It gave light and life to the Arabs who in turn spread that light to the farthest ends of the earth. (close)
صِرَاطِ اللّٰہِ الَّذِیۡ لَہٗ مَا فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ مَا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ ؕ اَلَاۤ اِلَی اللّٰہِ تَصِیۡرُ الۡاُمُوۡرُ ﴿٪۵۴﴾
صِرَٰطِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ أَلَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَصِيرُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ
2668. The beginning and the end of all things is in the hand of Allah. (close)
Islam is the life and the light, and the way that leads to God and to realization by man of the great and sublime object of his creation.
The words, to Allah do all things return, mean that the beginning and the end of all things is in the hand of Allah. (close)
