The Holy Quran 18:56 – Al-Kahf (الْکَھْفِ)

وَمَا مَنَعَ النَّاسَ اَنۡ یُّؤۡمِنُوۡۤا اِذۡ جَآءَہُمُ الۡہُدٰی وَیَسۡتَغۡفِرُوۡا رَبَّہُمۡ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ تَاۡتِیَہُمۡ سُنَّۃُ الۡاَوَّلِیۡنَ اَوۡ یَاۡتِیَہُمُ الۡعَذَابُ قُبُلًا ﴿۵۶﴾

English translation by Maulawi Sher Ali

And nothing hinders people from believing when the guidance comes to them, and from asking forgiveness of their Lord, except that they wait that there should happen to them the precedent of the ancients or that punishment should come upon them face to face.

اور کسی چیز نے لوگوں کونہیں روکا کہ جب ہدایت ان کے پاس آجائے تو ایمان لے آئیں اور اپنے ربّ سے استغفار کریں سوائے اس کے کہ (وہ چاہتے تھے کہ) ان پر پہلوں کی تاریخ دہرائی جائے یا پھر ان کی طرف تیزی سے بڑھنے والا عذاب انہیں آ پکڑے۔
