NOTE: Alislam Team takes full responsibility for any errors or miscommunication in this Synopsis of the Friday Sermon

In today’s Friday Sermon Huzur gave a discourse on the faculty of acceptance of prayer of the companions of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace).

Originally, it was the divine power of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) that had transformed the idolaters of Arab into firm and sincere believers of Unity of God and who had, through complete obedience of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) acquired the power of acceptance of their own prayers that had further enhanced their faith. Allah had told the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) that his Companions were like luminous stars exuding spiritual light and whoever followed them would be guided. Huzur related a few incidents to expound this and then went on to say that indeed the mission that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) had started was to continue and in his subservience his true and ardent devotee, the Messiah was to inherit this power of acceptance of prayer and spiritual light which in turn his followers were to partake of as well.

Among the companions of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) Maulana Ghulam Rasool Rajiki Sahib experienced extraordinary acceptance of prayers and Huzur related a few incidents to illustrate this. The news of Maulana Rajiki’s acceptance of prayer, to which even the opponents of Ahmadiyyat were witness, had spread in the neighbouring villages. One such non-Ahmadi approached his family for prayers for his brother who had been ill for a long time. Maulana Rajiki went and prayed for him – as soon as he had finished his Salat the ailing person felt better and within days had fully recovered. Although this family was most pleased and had positive feelings for Ahmadiyyat but did not do bai’at. This is when Allah told Maulana Rajiki that the healing had been granted as a sign of conclusive argument for the truth of Ahmadiyyat and if the family did not accept the truth of Ahmadiyyat the ‘patient’ would pass away on a specific date. Maulana Rajiki wrote this down but kept it confidential. Indeed the person died on the exact day as prophesied and when later the written account was put in front of the people they were astonished but still did not come into Ahmadiyyat.

Huzur related a couple of incidents from the life of Master Abdur Rahman Sahib who had converted to Ahmadiyyat from Sikhism and was most keen at Tabligh. Allah had informed him of his remaining time – when it got closer to the time he supplicated to Allah making entreaties that his family was still young and he had many responsibilities left, he made entreaties for further life - this is when he had a revelation in that Allah increases the life of those who become wholesome beings for Him. Master Sahib thought Allah loves Tabligh; therefore he started doing Tabligh and had a long life. Huzur also related an incident from his college days when he would discuss the concept of a Living God with his friends from other religions. He had a revelation before an exam informing him of the contents of the exam paper, he notified others of this and when the exam took place they were astonished to see the accuracy of his prophecy. However, some were still sceptical – through prayers and supplication he was able to yet again demonstrate his power of acceptance of prayer when he was foretold by Allah that he would have a baby boy. When a couple of his friends still persisted on being sceptical he told them they would fail the exams. Indeed the rest of the class passed and only those two individuals failed.

Huzur also recounted an incident relating to Maulana Sher Ali Sahib’s faculty of acceptance of prayer and recounted further incidents from Maulana Rajiki’s life when he prayed for people who had all but lost hope for a cure but were granted miraculous healing. Maulana Rajiki said that it was by virtue of the bai’at of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) and Tabligh of Ahmadiyyat that he had acquired a spiritual condition that granted his prayers acceptance and were the source of alleviating people’s troubles.

Huzur also recounted an incident about Dr. Abdur Sattar Sahib whereby he anticipated the wrath of the local magistrate at the courts because, due to an injury, he had not been prompt in attending the court as a witness. However, Dr. Sattar Sahib offered two nawafil before the court proceedings began and prayed for himself. Due to an ensuing headache not only did the magistrate pass on the sitting of the court for taking the testimony to someone else he also paid Dr. Sahib the expenses incurred.

Huzur also related an incident about Maulwi Muhibur Rahman Sahib whose lungs got badly diseased in old age. Maulwi Sahib wrote to Hadhrat Musleh Maud (may Allah be pleased with him) requesting prayers for good health. Meanwhile Maulwi Sahib had a dream and saw that an angel threw away his diseased lungs and gave him a new pair of lungs. Following this Maulwi Sahib lived on for many years and died a natural death.

Huzur said today each Ahmadi should endeavour through prayer and through worship of God to inculcate a connection with Him and try to join ranks with these holy and pious people who shine like brilliant stars. May Allah enable us to be the recipient of acceptance of prayers in obedience of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) who told us to become pious and holy ourselves rather than idolise pious and holy people.

Next, with reference to his last Friday’s Sermon Huzur said he had mentioned other aspects of the life of Sahibzadi Amatul Basit Sahiba but did not mention her services to the Community. She had indeed served Lajna extremely well; however, her main contribution was that she had assisted her late husband Mir Daud Ahmad Sahib in compiling a book on references from the writings of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace). These references were compiled in ‘subject’ order and the book is entitled: ‘Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani; apni tehriroon ki ru say’. Huzur said he had himself seen how they both sat for hours working on this project. This great endeavour of theirs now facilitates prompt search of references of the writings of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace). Huzur said Mir Daud Ahmad Sahib acknowledged the help and assistance of his wife in the preface. May Allah keep them both in His loving grace. Choudhary Zafrullah Khan Sahib translated this work in English under the title ‘Essence of Islam’ which has been the source of developing the interest of many. One English lady has asked Huzur when would ‘Braheen e Ahmadiyya’ be translated – Huzur said those references have indeed heightened the level of interest.
