True Love Comes from Allah

Real love between hearts does not begin from the earth; it descends from Allah, who alone has the power to turn strangers into true brothers and sisters in faith. The Holy Qur’an declares that even if all the wealth of the earth were spent, it could not join hearts unless Allah Himself binds them together. (8:64) He reminds believers that they were once enemies, then He united their hearts so that, by His grace, they became brothers. (3:104)

Allah sends His Prophets as the focal point and glue for this divine love. Through them He softens hearts, removes old hatreds and creates a living brotherhood. The Holy Prophet was granted special gentleness and mercy, and Allah states that if he had been harsh and hard-hearted, his followers would have scattered from around him. (3:160)  In hadith, faith itself is tied to this love: “None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself,” a narration found in Bukhari and Muslim that makes mutual love a condition for complete faith

In this age Allah has renewed this same principle through Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya. Khalifatul Masih is a God-appointed centre of unity under whose leadership the Jamaat moves like one soul and one body, and under whose guidance believers develop deep affection for one another that is not formal or forced. The love for the Khalifa and for fellow Ahmadis grows naturally out of shared obedience to Allah and His Messenger and from constantly receiving spiritual nourishment through sermons, guidance and prayers.

The Promised Messiah(as) explained that when a person truly enters bai‘at, he is grafted into a living spiritual tree and begins to share its life and blessings. He repeatedly instructed his community to become like one body, to shun pride, cover each other’s faults and treat all with sincere compassion, teaching that true community is built only on mutual love and sympathy for the sake of Allah, not on mere organisation or name. Where hearts turn to Allah, remain busy in His remembrance after worship, and submit to the divinely guided system, love becomes genuine, sustained and unbreakable. (2:201)

When Allah joins hearts to Himself, to His Prophet(sa), and in this age to the Khalifatul Masih, the result is a brotherhood of love that no wealth can purchase, no enemy can break, and no time can wear away.
