‘Early Writings’ is the English rendering of the book Purani Tahrirein. It is a collection of articles penned by the Promised Messiah^(as), Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, in the defence of Islam at a time when the Arya and Brahmu Samajists were spreading the false notion that Vedic teachings were superior to all others. These articles were published between 1878 and 1880 in various Christian and Hindu periodicals before the publication of Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya and his claim of being the Promised Messiah and Mahdi. Amongst other subjects, the articles include the refutation of atheism and the doctrine of transmigration, and elaborate upon the phenomenon of revelation.
