The Mirror of the Excellences of Islam (A’ina-e-Kamalat-e-Islam) was written by the Promised Messiah^(as), Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, at a time when the beautiful face of Islam was being misrepresented and maligned on virtually every front. Ever so novel attacks were being contrived by the Christian missionaries, the Arya Samaj, and the proponents of various rational and scientific lines of thought.

To make matters worse, Muslim leaders were inadvertently harming it from within as they tried to reconcile Islamic teachings with the rational thoughts of their day. The Promised Messiah^(as) refutes their theoretical assertions on the authority of his actual spiritual experiences, Divine revelations, and deeply insightful knowledge of the Qur’an and Hadith.

During the composition of the book, the Promised Messiah^(as) twice experienced a vision in which the Holy Prophet^(sa) expressed his great pleasure of the book. In another vision, the Promised Messiah^(as) saw an angel calling upon the people to stand in reverence of such a noble work.
