After greeting everyone with "Assalamo-Alaikum wa Rahmatullah" - peace be upon you and the Mercy of Allah - and bearing witness to the absolute Unity of Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger and Servant, and seeking the protection of Allah against Satan, Huzur Aqdas (may Allah strengthen him with His Mighty Help) recited Sura Al-Fatiha, and then said that:
Today Insha'Allah after Jumu'ah, Jalsa will be inaugurated. Friday service is also important. We should realize the importance of Friday and pay dues of this day. Due to Jalsa, paying dues involves praying for the Jalsa to be blessed. With regards to the importance of Friday Service, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that the best of the days is Friday. Call down Allah's blessings upon me in abundance on this day as this is presented to me on this day. In the ahadith it is stated concerning the importance of Jumu'ah that a moment arrives during Friday, where any prayer offered by a momin [a believer] is accepted - and this is a very brief moment in time. If we, during the sermon, or during our worship this day, focus upon reciting Durood, and say اللھم صلے علی محمد , call down blessings of Allah upon the Holy Prophet, we should be doing it with understanding and perception and knowledge and praying that Allah may establish the faith brought to the world by the Holy Prophet and establish its grandeur and truth among the people; and by granting us the ability to be a part of this effort make us among those who partake in the rewards set aside for those of the Holy Prophet's umma - people - who carry out this effort.
When we recite اللھم بارک علی محمد we pray that Prophet's Grandeur is safeguarded and enemies ploys are eliminated. May all ploys of the enemies deflect back at them. When we convene today and pray in this manner, it will draw benevolence of God towards us. We will partake of the blessings by acceptance of the prayer. When Holy Prophet is presented this Durood and prayers, we are granted from Prophet our own prayers.
One of the great objectives of our Jalsa is to ensure that the love of God and Prophet envelops our heart. We can only fulfill this objective when we convey Durood Sharif upon Holy Prophet from bottom of our heart. And reform ourselves accordingly as per the commandments of God and the example set before us by the Holy Prophet (SAW). Conveying Durood upon Holy Prophet (SAW) through his love will help us attain love for God. During Friday Service, afterwards, and during the next 2 days, recite Durood with great attention so that Allah, bestowing His Mercy upon us, may turn back upon our enemies the evil of all their plans that they have put together against us.
In the blessed example that the Holy Prophet has laid out before us, we see great examples of paying dues of mankind. We should instill that role model within ourselves. God has told us to be kind, compassionate to one another. Even in these matters, we witness the role model of Holy Prophet. Holy Prophet could not bear any difficulties encountered by the believers.
Allah has mentioned the state of the Holy Prophet in the Holy Quran: "grievous to him is that you should fall into trouble" (9:128)
The difficulties of one another should make us restless as per the Role Model of Holy Prophet.
One of the objectives of Jalsa is to increase in mutual unity. This is only possible when one makes great sacrifices.
When Jalsas were started, some individuals did not bring about a revolutionary change. Promised Messiah (as) was very disappointed and he did not let Jalsa Salana be held for a year. Promised Messiah (as) expected brotherhood, love, compassion from members of his Jama'at. Why are those who believe in Promised Messiah (as) not able to comprehend the difficulties of others? We should increase in mutual love. We should progress in our education with respect to faith. All friends solely for the purpose of progressing should come to this Jalsa. These Jalsas are necessary for progressing spiritually and excelling in faith. Great strides will have be taken to ensure one attracts God's love.
This Jalsa will also help in forming mutual bonds and many other benefits will come about. Each of us should remember the objective of this Jalsa. We have to fulfill the conditions of this convention. This is not an ordinary convention. Our focus should be upon hearing religious teachings. We should not waste our time by engaging in meaningless discussions or walking around the stalls. There are many other sessions held during Jalsa, not just speeches. Instead of wasting time, try to increase in religious education.
Try to remember the favors of Allah and how God is fulfilling the promises he made with Promised Messiah (as). How God has caused this message to reach the corners of the earth. Pray for the martyrs of this Jama'at. May Allah safeguard the Jama'at from all ploys of the enemies.
See the newspapers, literatures, at stalls. Review of Religions has displayed the Shroud of Jesus Christ in their stall. One realizes the truthfulness of Promised Messiah (as) claims by seeing such exhibits. Meet one another. Many new converts testify that when they met Ahmadis from different countries, they see great love.
Promised Messiah (as) said to increase your mutual bonds and become one spiritually. Break all cultural barriers.
Pray for one another so a great standard can be established. These mutual relations should be solely for sake of Allah. All of us should strive to find the other spiritual benefits of this Jalsa. During these days, pray and strive to partake of the objectives that Promised Messiah (as) has laid out.
Pay attention to the Jalsa programs in a manner that we have to obey afterwards. Attentively listen to the speeches, don't display laziness.
Those who do not listen attentively to the speeches, it will not benefit you. Recall that everything is mentioned should be heard with great attention or it will not benefit you. Listen with intention of not only learning but also obeying, progressing in faith and make it beneficial for yourself.
Do not merely pay attention to the style of delivery but focus upon the essence, the core of what is being delivered. Most only focus on the oration but fail to understand what is actually being said. Promised Messiah (as) did not like merely focusing upon oration. Muslims do not come with the required dedication in their conventions. What is the point of spending great amount when people fail to pay heed to the essence. May Allah enable all the participants to benefit from this Jalsa. Respect the workers and obey them. The volunteers are here to help you. Whether the guidance is related to seating arrangement or food, obey them. Some individuals require special attention due to various reasons. Hence food should be available at all times. Everyone should understand they have to benefit from this Jalsa. Mothers should bring food for their children.
Traffic delays cause delay in Jalsa programs. Obey the security personnel, and remain vigilant. Jama'at's progress is making many envious. We should pray to be safeguarded against ploys of the envious ones. Jalsa programs have various guidance which should be read and obeyed.
Promised Messiah (as) said we should remember those who pass away in the past year as that is an objective.
The first funeral is of a Martyr. Mukarram Ikhramullah Sahib Shaheed from Taunsa Sharif, Dera Ghazi Khan. He was shot in his medical store on August 19 2015. The assailants proudly proclaimed they killed a disbeliever as they drove away. Ikramullah Sahib after education opened his medical store. He opened his store 9 years ago. He was married in 2009. He was very pious, he was very dedicated. He participated in flood relief efforts. He would provide free medications to the less fortunate. He was a Moosi, held various offices in the Jama'at. On July 11, 2015, some individuals attacked the mosque there and he was investigating, he was receiving threats. His wife states that he saw the Promised Messiah (as) in his dream and he said to come without hesitation. He leaves behind 2 children, daughter (4 years), son (2 years). His children are Waqf-e-Nau. May Allah elevate his station and grant patience to his family. Ameen.
Second funeral: Professor Muhammad Ali Sahib, passed away on August 14, 2015. He accepted Ahmadiyyat in his youth and carried out services for the Jama'at. He was the only Ahmad in his village. He did M.A. in Philosophy. Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih II (ra) accepted his life devotion. He taught various subjects in college. He served as private secretary to Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih III (rh). He was a Professor of English at Jamia as well. He translated books of the Promised Messiah (as). Muhammad Ali sb. was the first Officer of Waqf-e-Nau scheme. Due to his great interest in translation, he was the Chief Translator for the Jama'at. He served in the senate of Punjab University for a long time. He wrote great poetry in Urdu and Punjabi. He was very hardworking. He was very pious. Even on the 13th of August, a before his death he kept working in the office. He suffered a heart attack. He leaves behind two sisters and two brothers.
Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih II (ra) stated that Muhammad Ali Sahib was from Jalandar, and Ch. Muhammad Ali Sahib is from Jalandar. Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Sahib was granted the ability to translate far more than the other Muhammad Ali Sahib. He paid dues of the translations. Mujeeb ur Rahman Advocate Sahib stated that Chaudhry sb. was a great lover of Khilafat. Everyone would be greatly impacted by his love for Khilafat.
Even his students testify that Muhammad Ali Sahib taught them proper conduct. He told one of them that you can be visited at any time by some members of the Jama'at, so never show any form of laziness or fatigue. Many will try to recognize your weaknesses. Accept them. If someone raises an objection at the Jama'at or Khilafat, do not tolerate them at all. Dr. Noori Sahib states that even after heart attack a long time ago, he had a smile on his face & would remember God. He would always pray that may Allah enable him to fulfill his duties that were given to him by Khalifa of the time. He had great love for each and every Khalifa. A true Ahmadi loves all Khulafa. His only purpose was to be dedicated to Khilafat. May Allah continue to grant the Jama'at such dedicated and loyal individuals.
All praise is due to Allah. We laud Him, we beseech help from Him and ask His protection; We confide in Him, we trust Him alone and we seek protection against the evils. Whomsoever He guides on the right path, none can misguide him. He is alone and has no partner. We bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. O servants of Allah! May Allah be merciful to you. Verily, Allah commands you to act with justice. Forbids evil which pertain to your own selves and evils which affect others. He warns you against being unmindful. Remember Allah; He too will remember you. Call on Him and He will make a response to your call. Verily divine remembrance is the highest virtue.
Today after Friday prayer, the Annual Convention will formally begin, Insha'Allah, the first session according to the convention program will start. But this should also be remembered that Friday also has importance. Therefore, keeping this importance in view, we should try to fulfill its right as well, and today, due to the convention, for fulfilling this right or during the fulfillment of this right, whatever prayers we make, we should also keep praying for the convention to be blessed. About the importance of Friday, it comes in Hadith that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that the best day among days is Friday—on this day, send abundant blessings upon me because on this day your blessings are presented before me. (Sunan Abi Dawud, Book of Prayer, Chapter on the virtue of Friday and Friday night, 1047)
Then the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that on this day comes an hour when, if a believer prays to Allah the Exalted in that hour, whatever prayer he makes is accepted, and he said this is a very short hour. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Friday, Chapter on the hour that is in Friday, 935)
So this is the importance of Friday, and if today, during today's worship and listening to the sermon—because the sermon is also a part of Friday worship—we recite blessings during it, the most important prayer among all prayers is to recite blessings. Recite blessings with reflection. When saying اَللّٰھُمَّ صَلِّ عَلیٰ مُحَمَّدٍ, say it with this understanding, realization, and thought that: O Allah! By elevating the mention of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) by granting success and dominance to his beautiful message and teaching, by truly establishing the Shariah he brought and proving its greatness and superiority to the world, and by granting us the ability to help in spreading it, make us participants in the bounties destined for his Ummah. And when we say اَللّٰھُمَّ بَارِکْ عَلیٰ مُحَمَّدٍ, with this thought that: O Allah, this is also our prayer that the honor, greatness, magnificent dignity and eminence that You have destined for the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—by maintaining it and making the enemy disappointed and failed, grant us also the ability to see it and become part of it, when we see these scenes of success. Every scheme and effort established against the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) should fall upon the enemy. And today when we collectively make this prayer gathered together, this is such a prayer that certainly receives loving and accepting attention from Allah the Exalted and is seen, and we also receive blessings from its acceptance, and then we keep becoming participants in its continuing blessings. When your prayers and blessings upon him are presented to him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) then we also receive blessings from his prayers, and thus a series of blessings begins.
One very great purpose of our conventions is precisely what Hazrat Masih Maud (peace and blessings be upon him) described and also stated the purpose of pledge: "that love for one's Gracious Lord and the Accepted Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) may prevail over the heart." (Asmani Faisla, Ruhani Khaza'in, Vol. 4, p. 351)
Love can prevail over the heart only when we send blessings upon him from the depth of our hearts, because this is also Allah the Exalted's command, and then we also mold our conditions accordingly and try to mold them according to the example that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) presented before us. Blessings upon him and following him due to love for him will also make us recipients of Allah the Exalted's love. So during Friday also, after Friday also especially, and also during the remaining two days, everyone should try to spend time reciting blessings and remembrance of Allah with focus, so that Allah the Exalted, having mercy on us, may turn all the plans of our opponents back upon them.
Then we also see magnificent examples of rights of fellow beings in the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. For this too we should strive to apply it to ourselves. Allah the Exalted has described this sign of believers: that they should live life having feelings of mutual love, affection, and mercy, and in this too, the example we see of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the picture that Allah the Exalted has also drawn: عَزِیۡزٌ عَلَیۡہِ مَا عَنِتُّمۡ (At-Taubah: 128)—that your falling into hardship weighs heavily upon him. So due to the love he had for believers, you could not bear even the slightest trouble reaching them. Even the slightest trouble reaching believers would distress him. So this is the example placed before us: that another's trouble should distress you, and this can only happen when there are feelings of mercy and love for each other in the true sense. Among the purposes of holding conventions, Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) also stated this purpose: "that the fraternal relations of the Community will be strengthened." (Majmu'a Ishtiharat, Vol. 1, p. 281, Notice No. 91)
And fraternal relations are only strengthened when, being selfless, one makes sacrifices for each other, keeps in mind each other's feelings. In the initial conventions, when those standards of training had not yet been achieved that Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) wants from us, and that spirit of sacrifice was not there—indeed, in terms of faith, strength had developed, but under the influence of the environment, those standards of rights of fellow beings, love, and brotherhood had not developed practically that Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) wanted to create in his Community. So when you heard these complaints that care for each other was not taken at the convention, everyone or some people gave preference to their own comfort over another's comfort, he became severely displeased, and due to this displeasure, for one year the convention was not held. He said very strictly:
"I say truly that a person's faith can never be correct until he gives preference, as far as possible, to his brother's comfort over his own comfort." (Shahadat-ul-Quran, Ruhani Khaza'in, Vol. 6, p. 395)
So see the heartfelt feelings of Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) for seeing brotherhood, love, and affection among members of his Community. He became distressed about why my followers do not feel each other's hardship. So those attending the convention, where they have to create love for Allah the Exalted and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to fulfill the convention's purpose, there they also have to increase feelings of mutual love, affection, and brotherhood. They also have to increase religious knowledge.
At one place, he drew and described the picture of this state—what is the convention's purpose and what will or should develop in those attending the convention. He says:
"As far as possible, all friends should come on this date merely for Allah's sake to hear spiritual matters and to participate in prayers. And in this convention there will be the work of narrating such realities and insights as are necessary for giving progress to faith, certainty, and understanding. And there will be special prayers and special attention for those friends. And as far as possible, effort will be made at the court of the Most Merciful that God Almighty draws them toward Himself and accepts them for Himself and bestows pure transformation in them. And one temporary benefit in these conventions will also be that each new year, as many new brothers enter this Community, they will attend on the fixed date and see the faces of their previous brothers, and becoming acquainted, the bond of affection and mutual acquaintance will keep progressing... And to unite all brothers spiritually and to remove the dryness, strangeness, and hypocrisy from among them, effort will be made at the court of His Majesty, Glory be to Him. And in this spiritual convention there will also be many other spiritual benefits and advantages which, God Almighty willing, will keep appearing from time to time." (Asmani Faisla, Ruhani Khaza'in, Vol. 4, pp. 351-352)
So each of us should keep these things in mind that during these days at the convention we have to fulfill the convention's purposes, and as Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) said at another place: not to consider it a fair like worldly fairs (Taken from Shahadat-ul-Quran, Ruhani Khaza'in, Vol. 6, p. 395). And as is apparent from this extract, during these days our attention should remain toward hearing spiritual matters. Time should not be spent in mutual gatherings and idle talk. Nor should you waste time by spending most of your time in markets. If you must go for a while, then go, but some people have this habit that they will keep roaming outside constantly or keep engaging in miscellaneous talk.
Those attending the convention should try that besides the convention programs—that is, besides these main convention sessions—there are also some other programs. Besides the convention programs, whatever time remains, they should spend that time in religious matters or in remembrance of Allah, or watch the other programs. Then there are some things—instead of roaming here and there wasting time or roaming in markets—that have been arranged collectively by the Community here from which one's faith and certainty increase. For instance, there are the archives—they have set up an exhibition here. See the Community's history and remember Allah the Exalted's graces—how Allah the Exalted is fulfilling the words of Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) and the promises made to him, and how the Community's introduction and preaching are spreading to the corners of the world. Then there are pictures of Ahmadi martyrs—seeing them, praying for the elevation of their ranks, the strengthening of your faiths, and for their families and members of the Community. May Allah the Exalted protect the Community everywhere from the evil of enemies.
Then there is a stall from publications. They also have a marquee—go there and see the books and literature published this year. Those who can buy should buy. Then those who don't have the first literature should also try to obtain it. The Review of Religions has also this year expanded their stall here or their space, and this time there is much information there about the Shroud of Jesus. See that too, and seeing these things, increase your faith from the truth and righteousness of Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) becoming more apparent. Similarly, besides the main convention program, whatever other programs occur in different languages, those who can benefit from them or want to should benefit. After the main convention program, meet each other to become acquainted. After the convention, many newly arrived Ahmadis express that despite our different languages, when we meet Ahmadis of different nations, the feelings of love and affection that develop and increase through the language of gestures are such that they cannot be described in words.
So Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) said that the bond of affection and acquaintance should progress among you, and all brothers should be one spiritually, and there should be effort to remove dryness, strangeness, and hypocrisy, and there should also be prayer for this—so expression of selfless connection and prayer for each other create such an atmosphere whose example is seen only in these our conventions. So everyone should strive to obtain and increase this connection and acquaintance, and this connection should be purely for Allah's sake.
Similarly, everyone should also strive and pray that all those spiritual benefits which Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) mentioned generally—that "there will also be many other spiritual benefits and advantages"—those that our thinking can reach or not, or whatever were in Hazrat Masih Maud's heart that my followers should have these spiritual benefits, we should be participants in all of them. This too should be prayed for and strived for.
So during these days, as I said, both pray and strive for this. Everyone should participate in this according to their capacity. One should try to listen to convention programs and listen with this purpose: that we also have to act upon this. Giving advice about this, at one place Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) says:
"Everyone should listen attentively" (when matters are discussed, speeches are given). "And listen with full reflection and thought because this is a matter of faith. In this, heedlessness, laziness, and inattention produce very bad results. Those people who act heedlessly in faith and when they are addressed and something is explained to them, they do not listen to it attentively—they do not benefit at all from the speaker's explanation, however high a degree it may be of being beneficial and effective." If they don't listen attentively, no matter how good the explanation, it will give no benefit. He said: "Such people are those about whom it is said that they have ears but they don't hear, they have hearts but they don't understand. So remember that whatever is explained, listen to it with attention and great reflection, because whoever does not listen attentively, even if he remains in the company of a beneficial existence for a long period, he cannot receive any benefit at all." (Malfuzat, Vol. 3, pp. 142-143, 1985 edition, published England)
So listen to these programs attentively and listen with this intention that from these matters we are not only to derive scholarly pleasure but also to act upon them. This should also become a means of increase and benefit in our faith and certainty.
At one place he said: "I strongly dislike that only the speaker's eloquence and oratory are observed." He says that decline, fall, and humiliation among Muslims occurred only because the substance is not seen. The real thing is not seen. Only outward beauty and hollowness is seen. The essence of the subject is not seen. The matters that occur are not reflected upon, effort is not made to act upon them. It is only seen that such-and-such speaker spoke very well, such-and-such captivated the gathering in this way. He says that all these are things that are useless and purposeless. (Taken from Malfuzat, Vol. 1, pp. 398-401, published Rabwah)
He advised his followers: Do not become like those who come to gatherings and speak, but rather create sincerity. Don't be among those who don't benefit. The reason for Muslims' decline instead of progress generally is that those coming and going to gatherings do not take sincerity. Big gatherings occur but there is no sincerity in them. There are outward matters. So each of us needs to pay attention to this: that we should listen to all these programs with sincerity, otherwise you spending so much and coming here and then the Community also spending so much for this big extensive arrangement is useless.
So the coming guests, all convention participants, should keep in view their purpose of attending the convention and try to derive maximum blessings. May Allah the Exalted grant you all this ability. Also, from an administrative perspective, I want to draw attention to a few matters: fully cooperate with the administration. Where the administration is for your service, there it is for your benefit, and if there is cooperation, correct arrangements will run. Whether for men also and for women also, for mothers with children also, whether there are instructions for sitting in the convention venue or instructions for going at meal times to the food marquees and eating under a system—act upon them. But the food-serving administration should also keep in mind that some people, due to their illness or some other compulsion, sometimes due to arriving late, and some women with children for some reason need food besides meal times or need to go to the marquee, so there should be some arrangement there at all times also because markets then close. But generally you, the guests, should keep this in mind, and each person should keep in mind during convention times that he has to benefit from the convention. Don't think that there is a little permission so start troubling the administration unnecessarily. Generally, mothers with children should bring some food with them for their children and then feed them separately. Their marquees are also separate. Similarly, fully cooperate with traffic administration also. Due to traffic, programs often get delayed. Where you're told to park, park your cars there. The scanning situation has been tried to be improved as much as possible, but if there is also some difficulty in time, bear it, and there too, before entering the gates, fully cooperate with the administration. This is necessary both for security and for your convenience, that through such cooperation you will be able to pass more quickly. Similarly, fully cooperate also with the general security arrangement, and with alertness, every Ahmadi should keep watch to their right and left. This is also our very great security system. World conditions are also such, and due to the Community's progress, the mischief of envious ones has also intensified and is increasing. So therefore keeping this in mind is very necessary, and above all, to escape from the envy of envious ones and the evil of evil ones, pray very much during these days, as I have already said. May Allah the Exalted make the convention blessed in every respect. Convention programs are also given to everyone—other instructions are written on them, read them carefully and act upon them.
After prayers I will also lead some funeral prayers in absentia. Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) had also said regarding the convention that those brothers who pass away from the mortal abode during this period, prayer for their forgiveness will be made (Taken from Asmani Faisla, Ruhani Khaza'in, Vol. 4, p. 352). So at this time I will lead two funeral prayers in absentia, of which one is the funeral of our martyred youth and one is the funeral of a long-time and very old servant of the Community. Include those who passed away this year with them. Generally, those who passed away are included in prayers, but because funerals are being held today, include these also. The first funeral, as I said, is of a martyr. Respected Ikramullah Sahib, martyr, son of respected Karimullah Sahib—he was from Taunsa Sharif, District Dera Ghazi Khan. Opponents martyred him on August 19, 2015, after Maghrib prayer, by coming to his medical store and firing. اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ وَاِنَّاۤ اِلَیۡہِ رٰجِعُوۡنَ ‘Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return.’ On the day of the incident, August 19, 2015, the martyred deceased was at his medical store when four armed persons on two motorcycles came to the store, fired, and fled. While leaving, the attackers kept firing in the air and kept shouting Allahu Akbar and kept saying we have killed a disbeliever. The martyred deceased received eleven bullets in different parts of the body. One bullet hit his eye and went through, due to which martyrdom occurred on the spot. اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ وَاِنَّاۤ اِلَیۡہِ رٰجِعُوۡنَ. ‘Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return.’
Ahmadiyyat's penetration into the martyred deceased's family occurred through his grandfather, respected Sardar Faizullah Khan Sahib Natkani's sister, respected Sardar Begum Sahiba, who first sent written pledge in the service of Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) and then in 1905, going to Qadian with her husband, pledged at the hand of Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) and joined the Ahmadiyya Community. Some time after Sardar Begum Sahiba's pledge, respected Sardar Faizullah Sahib also took pledge and joined the Community. Respected Sardar Faizullah Sahib was Amir of Dera Ghazi Khan District. Ten years ago they shifted to Taunsa from a place near Taunsa. Ikramullah Sahib was born in 1978 in Rakh Maur Jhangi, District Dera Ghazi Khan. The martyred deceased did graduation, did a dispenser's course, and after education opened his dispensary. And nine years ago he opened his medical store in Taunsa Sharif. And for some time he also did employment. In 2009 his marriage took place. He possessed an extremely faithful, kind-hearted, virtuous, noble-natured, and sociable personality. He was an extremely sincere and devoted youth. Due to the flood, the entire area was affected, based on which he got an opportunity for prominent service. The martyred deceased often used to give free medicines to the poor. He was filled with the spirit of service. The spirit of service by staying behind was prominent. He was one who fully served his parents. The martyred deceased was, by Allah the Exalted's grace, a member of Al-Wasiyyat and at that time was getting opportunity to serve as Secretary General Affairs Taunsa Sharif, and besides this, in Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya also, at different places, he got opportunity to serve the Community.
On July 11, 2015, some people had attacked the Community's mosque in Taunsa Sharif and after firing had fled. So he was also following up on this case. He was being continuously threatened. Anti-Community and anti-him hostile posters were being hung. But in any case, despite this, he was facing everything with great courage and bravery. He also possessed prominent influence socially and was influential in the area. His wife says some time ago he saw Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) in a dream, and Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) said come without delay. Besides brothers and sisters, the martyred deceased left behind his respected mother Rashida Begum Sahiba, wife (Fauzia Yasmin Sahiba), and two children—daughter Rafia Maryam, age four years, and son Kashif, age two years. Both children are included in the Waqf-e-Nau organization. May Allah the Exalted elevate the martyred brother's ranks and grant all the bereaved beautiful patience.
The second funeral is of respected and honorable Professor Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Sahib M.A., who currently was Wakil-ut-Tasnif Tahrik-e-Jadid. On August 14, 2015, he passed away. According to educational records, his birth was in 1917. At a young age, he was introduced to Ahmadiyyat. During student days, he was well impressed by Ahmadiyyat from a debate done by Hazrat Maulvi Zahur Hussain Sahib, missionary of Bukhara, with a pandit in defense of Islam. During education at Government College Lahore, due to respected Qazi Muhammad Aslam Sahib, who was professor there and also head of the philosophy department—due to his personality, praiseworthy qualities, and invitation to Allah—in 1941, in his youth, he got the opportunity to accept Ahmadiyyat. Then until his last breath he remained busy in service of the Community. He was not only the sole Ahmadi in his family, but also in his village. With great courage he faced all these circumstances. He did M.A. in Philosophy from Government College Lahore. Then on April 9, 1944, he submitted an application for dedicating life in the service of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II, and Hazrat Musleh Maud graciously accepted the application. After this, his appointment was made as lecturer of philosophy at Ta'lim-ul-Islam College Qadian. After the partition of India, he remained associated with the same college first in Lahore and then in Rabwah. Thus he is included among the founding faculty of Ta'lim-ul-Islam College. In college he kept teaching philosophy, psychology, literature, and English language. In June 1967, he got the opportunity to serve as Private Secretary of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih III. Similarly, during Hazrat Khalifatul Masih III's tour of Africa and Europe also, he was with him. He received the honor of companionship. In 1984, his appointment was made in Jamia Ahmadiyya as Professor of English, where he rendered services as head of the English department. Similarly, during this period, he also got the privilege of translating books of Hazrat Masih Maud, peace be upon him.
When Wakalat Waqf-e-Nau was established, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IV, may Allah have mercy on him, appointed Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Sahib as the first Wakil Waqf-e-Nau. Then in 1998, in view of the expansion of translation work, he was appointed Wakil-ut-Tasnif by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IV. And until the last breath he remained assigned to this service. He got the opportunity to translate many books of the Community from Urdu to English. Thus he got the opportunity to serve the Community for approximately 71 years. For a long period he remained a member of Punjab University's Senate, Academic Council, and Board of Studies. This is a very great honor. He had high taste in Urdu literature. He was a highly accomplished poet of Urdu and Punjabi languages. He was a very hardworking administrator, sympathetic teacher, affectionate supervisor, true obedient and compliant to Caliphate, an elder who had a relationship of sincerity and loyalty with the Community system, free from hypocrisy, gentle-natured, soft-spoken, sympathetic to humanity, and a virtuous person. And all these are things in which there is no exaggeration. On August 13 also, he came to the office and after performing office duties all the time, went home where he had a heart attack. He was immediately taken to hospital but could not survive, and in the night between August 13 and 14, 2015, went to meet his True Creator. اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ وَاِنَّاۤ اِلَیۡہِ رٰجِعُوۡنَ. Among the bereaved are one brother and two sisters. Respected Chaudhry Hamidullah Sahib, Wakil-e-A'la, says I was small, a student of sixth or seventh class in Qadian. At that time the foundation of Fazl-e-Umar Hostel was to be laid, and this news became famous that Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II was coming to lay the foundation. In any case, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II came there and delivered a speech standing in the courtyard of the hostel. He says I was small but I remember that Huzoor said that Maulvi Muhammad Ali Sahib also belonged to Jalandhar—that is, the Maulvi Muhammad Ali Sahib who had taken pledge in Hazrat Masih Maud's time and then later separated from the Caliphate. Hazrat Khalifa II said that Maulvi Muhammad Ali Sahib also belonged to Jalandhar, and Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Sahib, whom I am now appointing as warden of the hostel, also belongs to Jalandhar. Also, he said that Maulvi Muhammad Ali Sahib also belonged to the Arain community, and Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Sahib also belongs to the Arain community, and then expressed some good expectations regarding Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Sahib, and these were Hazrat Musleh Maud's prayers and good expectations due to which Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Sahib got the opportunity to translate books of Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) more than Maulvi Muhammad Ali Sahib, and then the translation was also of very high standard that you did. Without leaving any word, sentence, or subject, he tried to fulfill that right which is the right of translation, with great depth.
Mujeeb-ur-Rahman Sahib, Advocate, says that in the 1939 convention he attended secretly, and in 1940 he took pledge at the blessed hand of Hazrat Musleh Maud (Actually this is 1941). He writes further that from the first day he was a lover of the Caliphate. About Hazrat Musleh Maud he had said:
O soul of absolute beauty, O heavenly beauty
O intoxicated face of love, O swift-moving youth
He says that his intoxicated love took the form of swift torrential passion with every Caliphate. And there is no exaggeration in this. He says whenever there was a meeting with them, and sitting with them, however brief the sitting, whoever sat in their company would rise filled with love for the Caliphate. And without exception, everyone has expressed this.
Riyaz Ahmad Doggar Sahib is a missionary of the community. He says the humble one received the honor of being his student during education at Jamia Ahmadiyya. Ostensibly he was a teacher of English, but he made a full effort to teach us not only English but the importance of dedication, ethics, loyalty to Caliphate, respect for elders, dignity of the community—everything. He says when I, graduating from Jamia, was going to the field, when I came out of Jamia, I saw him standing under the shade of a tree. He called me and seated me and said: What are you doing, going to the field? I said yes. He said to remember two things. And these are very necessary for every missionary, every preacher. That you are going to the field—Chaudhry Sahib told them—there Riyaz Doggar will not be known. Members of the Community will come to you considering you as the representative of Hazrat Masih Maud (peace be upon him) and Allah the Exalted told Promised Messiah: لَا تَسْئَمْ مِنَ النَّاسِ—do not tire of people. It will be such that you will be tired, your head will be aching, you will want to sleep. Someone won't be able to sleep, he will come to you. Even before him, don't show tiredness—that is, whatever your condition, if any person comes, he comes for some reason or worry or for whatever reason he comes, you should never show tiredness. Then he said to remember the second thing. You will go to Communities, some people will point out your weaknesses, and if they point out, accept cheerfully and try for your reform. Some people will criticize local officeholders. He said this is a very bad thing. Should not happen. But it can be heard. Listen, bear it. Going ahead, he said but if anyone objects to the Caliphate or Khalifatul Masih, then all limits of your patience should end. Then no patience. He said remember these two things of mine, God willing, all work in the field will become easy.
Dr. Noori Sahib says that when Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Sahib had this fatal heart attack and was taken to hospital, during this there was a smile on his face and you remained continuously busy in praising God Almighty. When Tahir Heart Institute Rabwah started, at that time he was the first patient to register. He had an old heart disease. He was hospitalized several times and Allah the Exalted gave him healing after which he would again become busy in service. He always used to pray that Allah the Exalted grant me the ability and courage to accomplish this important work which Khalifatul Waqt has entrusted to me. Saying this, his voice would become emotional and tears would come to his eyes. He always used to pray that Allah the Exalted forgive my sins, forgive my weaknesses, forgive all my errors, and may Allah the Exalted's grace, His mercy, and His nearness be granted to me.
Muzaffar Durani Sahib, missionary, writes that when I was about to leave, I went to meet him. When he asked, in an emotional voice he told me to convey his salaam to you. He says Chaudhry sahib had true and real love for the Caliphate. Whichever Caliph he would mention, he would mention with great love and would keep narrating incidents of personal relations. Whichever Caliph's mention would start, it seemed he was his lover. He writes that the humble one, as a result of your meetings and companionship, submits that he was a true devotee of Caliphate and a lover of all Caliphs, and this alone is the sign of a true believer and true Ahmadi.
Professor Sana Ullah Sahib says that Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Sahib was a living history of Ahmadiyya Caliphate whose life's only purpose was devotion to Caliphate, and whose proud verse was:
Whether or not they kill you, distressed one
Bow down your head as a precaution
Mubarak Siddiqui Sahib says once I presented myself in their service. This opportunity came two or three times, and I told them that in the Intikhab-e-Sukhan program, people make great requests for your such-and-such poems. Upon this he said my work has no skill. These are all blessings of the Caliphate. I only interpret the hearts of Ahmadis, that's why people like it.
May Allah the Exalted elevate their ranks, treat them with mercy and forgiveness, and may Allah the Exalted always keep granting the Jamma'at sincere and devoted lovers of Caliphate like them.
