Background, Participation in Battles and Martyrdom

Hazrat Antarah Maula Sulaim(ra) was the freed slave of Hazrat Sulaim(ra) bin Amr. Hazrat Anatarah was Sulami Zukwani, and was a confederate of the Banu Sawwad bin Ghadam tribe, which was a branch of the Ansar. Hazrat Antarah(ra) took part in the battles of Badr and Uhud, and was martyred on the day of the battle of Uhud by Nofal bin Muawiyyah Dilli. According to one narration, Hazrat Antarah(ra) was martyred during the Battle of Siffin, during the era of Hazrat Ali(ra), in 37 AH.
