Crucifixion and Death on Cross

Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the Ghost. (MATTHEW 27.50, MARK 15.37, LUKE 23:46 AND JOHN 19:30)

CIRCULATION OF BLOOD:

But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. JOHN 19.34

AN ACCURSED DEATH:

His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; for he that hangeth is accursed of God. DEUTERONOMY 21.23

PAUL’S EXCUSE:

Christ path redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, for it is written, he that hangeth is accursed of God. GALATIANS 3.13

COMPARE ETERNAL LAW:

Think not that I have come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am come not to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till the heaven and the earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. MATTHEW 5.17/19

PROPHECIES OF DELIVERANCE:

[These prophecies are normally quoted by Christians in support of their claim. Muslims do not necessarily agreed that these refer to Jesus Christ.]

THE BOOK OF PSALMS:

My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me. 22.1

For dogs have encompassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me; they have pierced my hands and my feet. 22.16

They parted my garment among them, they cast lots upon my vesture. 22.18

Be thou not far from me O Lord! O my strength, haste thee to help me. Deliver me from the sword, my darling, from the power of the dogs. Save me from the lions mouth; for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorn. 22.19/21

He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him; let him deliver him; seeing he delighted in him. 22.8

Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither had he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard. 22.23/24

BOOK OF ISAIAH:

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our grief, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 53.3/7

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief; when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin; he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. 53.10

PROPHECIES OF DELIVERANCE:

[These prophecies positively refer to Jesus.]

GOSPEL OF MATTHEW:

For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 12.40

GOSPEL OF LUKE:

For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation. 11.30

CHRIST’S AGONY AND PRAYERS IN GETHSEMANE ON MT. OLIVES:

Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, 0 my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. MATHEW 26:38/39.

He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. MATHEW 26:42

And he left them and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. MATTHEW 26:44

CHRIST’S FAITH IN POWER OF PRAYER:

And I say unto you, Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son of man shall ask bread of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good food unto your children; how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? LUKE 11:9/13

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. MATTHEW 21.22

CHRIST’S FAITH IN HIS OWN PRAYERS:

Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? MATTHEW 26.53

Said I not unto thee, that if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldst see the glory of God. Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always. JOHN 11.40 & 42

CHRIST’S PRAYER AT GETHESMERE HEARD:

And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will but thine be done. And there appeared and angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. LUKE 22.41/43

Who in the days of his flesh when he offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared. HEBREW 5.7.
