Background and Participation in Battles

Hazrat Amr(ra) bin Iyaas was from Yemen and was the confederate of the Banu Lauzan of the Ansar tribe. His father’s name was Iyaas bin Amr and according to another narration, Hazrat Amr’s(ra) paternal grandfather’s name was Zaid. Hazrat Amr(ra) participated in the battles of Badr and Uhud alongside the Holy Prophet(sa). Hazrat Amr(ra) was the brother of Hazrat Rabi‘(ra) bin Iyaas and Hazrat Warqah(ra) bin Iyaas. All three brothers had the opportunity of participating in the Battle of Badr.
