A Badri Companion of the Holy Prophet(sa)

Background

Hazrat Malik(ra) bin Amr belonged to Banu Hijr, which was a branch of the tribe of Banu Sulaim, who were confederates of Banu Abd-i-Shams. His father was Amr bin Sumait. Hazrat Malik(ra) participated in the Battle of Badr along with his two brothers, Hazrat Saqf(ra) bin Amr and Hazrat Mudlij(ra) bin Amr. Participation in Battles and Martyrdom

Hazrat Malik(ra) participated alongside the Holy Prophet(sa) in the Battle of Uhud and other battles and he was martyred during the battle of Yamama in 12 AH. (Al-Tabaqaat-ul-Kubra li ibn Sa‘d, Vol. 3, p. 72, Dar-ul-Kutub al-Ilmiyyah, Beirut, 1990)
